For State Representative

Vol#1 Issue#1

Fundraising

$4,000.00 is the goal

In 2004, the goal was $2,000. The campaign in the end raised $3,000! This year the goal is to raise $3,000 in donations and $1,000 in volunteer hours. There are Campaign Finance filing deadlines and all money coming in and out needs to be reported. A huge thanks to the campaign treasurer Donna Conley for doing this!

VOLUNTEERS: Whenever you do any work for the campaign, please track your time and figure in a dollar amount that would normally be an hourly wage for the work performed. Please forward once a month to sterling2008@kingcon.com.

DONATIONS: 17 V.S.A. 2805 sets the rules about raising money. A candidate cannot accept more than $200 from a single source however with immediate family there is no limit. Contributions in excess of $50.00 must be made by check.

Getting my message out is not going to be cheap by any means so please consider donating. No amount of money is too small!

Candidate Petition

Petitions must be turned in to the county clerk (Lunenburg) no later than July 17th. candidates running for State Representative must submit a minimum of fifty (50) signatures of registered voters. If you are not registered to vote (and would like to be) or would like to sign the petition, please contact Stephanie. Stephanie is a notary and would be more than happy to get you registered to vote!

P.S., A petition can also be found at the North Concord County Store (aka Copp’s store)

FYI

It is my goal to keep all supporters informed of how the campaign is progressing. To receive these newsletters via e-mail please send your request to sterling2008@kingcon.com . Saves a stamp!

Website

We have expanded the campaign into accessibility via the internet. I feel it is very important to be accessible to residents of Essex County. Having a large county and everyone having busy lives, this enables people from all over to learn who I am, how I stand on the issues and why voting November 7th for me is so crucial. The website is near completion and many thanks go out to Dave Lunnie. Dave has spent countless hours placing his talents and know-how into making this website a reality. Thank you Dave!

Stars & Stripes Parade!

The Stars and Stripes parade will be Saturday, July 15th. The parade starts at 10:00 am and we welcome every single person to come out and either walk with us or hoot and holler from the sideline. If you would like to participate, please meet at Kennemetal in Lyndonville (formerly Tap & Die) at 9:00 am. We had lots of fun in 2004 so please join us! Please see below what this years t-shirts look like. There are only 36 for people who walk with us so RSVP soon!
