Sterling cares
Wednesday October 13, 2004
To the Editor:
With the date for voting close at hand, I want to encourage everyone to get out and vote. Your vote does count and you can help make a difference.
It is time for us to vote in new representatives to the Statehouse. We appreciate all that has been done but we need people with a new outlook and fresh ideas. I think that Stephanie Sterling is just that person.
One of the ways Stephanie has shown her concern for people of the community was to help start up the ECHO Center in Gilman. ECHO is a resource center for those in Essex County who would otherwise have to travel to St. Johnsbury to get services and for some that was sometimes hard for them to arrange.
Some of the services offered at the resource center are Umbrella, AA, Northeast Kingdom Learning Services, Department of Corrections, Department of Health, RCT and Northeast Kingdom Youth Services. As you can see, the center has many different groups there that cater to all ages from the young to our seniors.
Stephanie has shown that she cares about her community, she hears what they are saying and she will follow through to find a solution. We need people like her in the Statehouse so let's show her our support by turning out and giving her our vote Nov. 2.
