An Independent Voice for a Healthy Community

Edie Bell-Brown, a resident of Lyndon, announced Thursday, June 3, that she is a candidate for state representative, running as a Democrat, from Caledonia District 4, Lyndon, Sutton and Burke.

Bell-Brown’s recent background includes having worked as a teacher, in academic support positions, as a writer, and as a campaign field organizer. Previously, she worked in such fields as advertising/graphic design, insurance and retail. She is currently president of the Friends of the Cobleigh Library, a member of the local chapter of Democracy for America, and the co-chair of a statewide voter registration drive.

Emphasizing the major themes of her campaign, Bell-Brown made her announcement at a Democracy for America meeting, held in conjunction with the Caledonia County Democrats, at the Cobleigh Library in Lyndonville.

Bell-Brown stated that everyone deserves to have access to healthcare, and that we have gone on too long without results. She believes we need independent leadership to stand up and fight for our right to healthcare.

Bell-Brown also stated that we must strengthen   the economy of the Northeast Kingdom, bringing more jobs to our area. Again, she noted that the Kingdom needs independent leadership to stand up and fight for more jobs.

Bell-Brown believes we must find ways to protect our beautiful state, so that families can come and ski, snowmobile, hunt and camp, and just admire the beauty and partake of our hospitality. In order to accomplish this, she believes we need independent leadership to make sure our part of the state gets its fair share of resources to keep our trails, parks and campgrounds clean and safe.

Stating that the Kingdom is our home, she asked for support so that we can have an independent voice to fight for healthcare, jobs, and a secure future for all our families.
